There is a process of adaptation that takes place when you enter into a new way of training. The body and the mind must adapt.

Body: Muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and the CNS.

Mind: Your mental outlook, mental fortitude, comfort under heavy load/high volume and comfort with increased intensity.

Based on my on personal experience and the observed experience of my athletes, the process generally does not happen within six months - in fact it usually takes a minimum of one year...

Some excellent insight from coach Winchester. The biggest source of plateau's is ego. Checking the ego at the door and gaining true focus on your goal for the day, week, month, year, 5 years will change your view of what needs to be accomplished and how. Listen to your coach, stick to your program, put your head down and train. PW.

Full Blown Paleo would like to say hello to Jenna’s Beach Body Fitness. She might not be Paleo (Yet) but she is a fantastic inspiration, and guide for those who want to become healthier!

Good on you Jenna!

Don't be on the other end of this kick! It will Hurt!

Looks like Jenna can Get After It!

16oz Grass fed ground beef
1 diced jalapeno
Red pepper flakes
1 egg
Spring mix with broccoli
½Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Splash of balsamic vinegar

On the menu for training:
3-3-3-1-1-1
Hang power cleans

I worked up to 165 my current PR. However, 135 & 145 felt quite a bit lighter than normal which I take to mean I am generating more power in that range.

Diet has been very strict paleo and it shows in performace gains and abdominals. Not a bad combo.

Rest day, but…

Posted: April 1, 2010 in Uncategorized

Today was a rest day but the last 2 days were physical to say the least. With my new found intensity I have been crushing WOD’s and the last two felt great.

3-31-10

CFWU

Burgener warmup (Olympic progressions)

Snatch 3-3-3-1-1-1

Score: 75-75-75-95-95-95-115miss

WOD:

40 double unders

30 box jumps (main called for 24″ box height but all I have is a picnic table which is 30″)

20 Kettle bell swings 1.5 pood (24kg or 53lbs)

Score: 18:09.64

3-31-10

Warm up: 500m row

2 min skip rope (focusing on double unders and fast footwork)

7 rounds for time of

3  front squat 185lbs

7 L pull ups

I scaled the L pull ups back to a knees forward but feet down pull up as my full blown L pull ups are not there yet.

Score: 13:19.52

Try to defeat me and post time and scaling to comments.

Sunday & Monday

Posted: March 22, 2010 in Uncategorized

A wonderful weekend in Cleveland with family. Now for the pain:

Run 800m
40 kettlebell snatches (full floor to overhead squat snatch alternate hands)
Run 800m
30 KB snatches
Run 800m
20 KB snatches

Score: 28:09.1

Monday
Mainsite WOD scaled
5 rounds for time of:
10 reps 225lb Deadlift
50 double unders

Score: 15:48.02

I am getting stronger on the deadlift but it still beat me up & required all broken sets beside the first. Fortunately I am a machine on double unders so I crushed them.

Do work, and post time to comments.

Pictured: Salmon with baked Yam chips & veggies. Also, deadlift shin. Beat, busted, broke & bleedin!
